Referral Pathways

Self Referral/Private Arrangements

We can simply be contacted via the telephone or the contact form regarding any further information you may require.

Should we feel we are able to offer the right service to you, we will arrange an appointment encouraging all parties to meet and find out what we have to offer and if we can provide the right support to you.

On your agreement to employ our services, we will create a bespoke service plan of support that you require. This will be followed up with a contract highlighting our expectations as a service provider and any terms and conditions.

Social Services and Self Directed Support Pathway

Ali Gibson Support can accept packages of support via the clients allocated social worker.

We work with the Adult services including Older People, Mental Health and Learning Disabilities within Sheffield City Council Social Work Departments, NHS and also work alongside many agencies both within private and public sector. Ali Gibson Support has trained and practised within the Self Directed Support Planning processes. We are happy to take direction from our clients, if they would like us to contact their social workers or designated advocates/family members to discuss self directed support options. Please feel free to call to discuss further.

Many of our clients have their finances managed by an appropriate agent and we have great working relationships with the social services regarding appointeeships.

Service provision

Once you have decided to go ahead with Ali Gibson Support, we will then match you up with the person best suited to meet your needs. We pride ourselves on our clients working with the same person on a regular basis, however we do like our clients to meet a few members of our team to ensure a seamless service and get to know our team. Our focus and priority is to ensure our clients recieve a regular on going service by the same worker or team of workers.

Happy Clients

My name is Barry, I’m 60yrs old and I have Parkinsons Disease. My wife works during the week and I am pretty much on my own all day, apart from the carers popping in at lunch time.

I employed Ali Gibson Support after two unsuccessful tries with various personal assistants who didn't understand my speech or seem interested in getting to know me. Since I started working with Ali Gibson Support, I have built up some great relationships with Alison and all her team.

We talk loads about how I am feeling from day-to-day, which is really important to me and they really listen to what I am saying.

They have been really great at helping me engage in my story writing and assisting me with my new technology we have accessed through positive working relationships with the speech therapy department and their assistive technology department.

With the on-going support I receive from my support worker, it has enabled me to communicate on a social media and I now have a computer that meets my needs.

I am able to type and write my own stories, which has been brilliant for me, as I really enjoy writing books. I am still sound of mind and worked as a nurse and social worker prior to my Parkinsons Diagnosis.

With Ali Gibson Support I enjoy all the normal things in life, its just the parkinsons has quite a big effect on my day to day life and at least I have a great team through Ali Gibson Support who understand this and work well with me.

The Extra Mile

We aim to meet all our client needs where we can accommodate them. If we cannot offer the help ourselves, we will help our clients find whatever it is they are looking for. This could be activities, decorating, sorting out utilities, finding a holiday to name but a few of the things we can help you with.

Maintaining Family and Friends

We recently accompanied one of our clients to the South of England to join their daughter to celebrate her wedding day. We were able to drive our client and his wife to the family home and wedding venue. Our client was able to walk his daughter down the aisle at the church. It was a pleasure to support our client throughout the day and forge fabulous relationships with extended family.

Reducing Isolation

We supported a gentleman signposted to us via a tenancy support service provider and also a family member that lived down south and unable to support him. The gentleman had a diagnosis of Alzheimers and was becoming increasingly confused and getting lost around the city.

Since our service has been involved with him, we now have regular appointments with the Memory Service, an allocated social worker and mental health advocate.
